First time swimming!

Last week, I blew up the little pool Ellen had given us and filled it with water in the morning, so it was warm by the time we went out in the evening. Both grandparents came over (except Grandpa Mike who was in Canada) and we swam for a while. They weren't quite sure what to think of it at first, but they had fun splashing and playing with toys. Eventually, they were tired out (see picture of Will). But, it was pretty cute. Grace was styling in her crocheted bikini.

One other development, Will is rolling over, now. He's done it a couple of times. We're still working on getting all of them to do it consistently. But, they tolerate tummy time better now than they used to (except when they're tired!) Next up: crawling! (I think that ones a while a way.)

Johnny Jumpers!

The triplets have discovered Johnny Jumpers. We have a big wide opening from our kitchen to our living room and we put all three jumpers there at one time. They have really taken to bouncing and spinning. They especially like it because they can see everything that's happening in the front part of the house. Grace doesn't like it as much as the boys (as you can tell from the picture), but she's getting the hang of it.

We've had a busy week. I taught Bible school this week, so they came to church with me Monday and Tuesday and they will Friday, too. Grace has been a little sick and is going to the doctor on Friday morning, and the boys will stay with Grandma Pam. We are looking forward to a long weekend and the 4th of July. They will be in a parade with Grandma and Grandpa Hoefs, so I'll post pictures of that after Tuesday.

Go Big Red!

Even though it's not Husker football season, we are still cheering on the crimson and white in this house! Grandma Pam bought them all Husker outfits and they fit now. So, we took a picture of them in the Husker outfits and we thought it turned out cute, so here it is.

We had a nice Father's Day. We went to church, then had a barbeque with the Niebuhrs. Grandma Ellen and Grandpa Dale kept them for a couple hours while mommy and daddy did chores, then we all had dinner together.

A new development: Xander and Grace have learned how to roll over! At first we though it was an accident, but they've both done it several times, from their tummys to their backs. They've definitely figured out how to get out of doing tummy time (which they dislike). We don't think Will is far off from rolling, either. It should be soon! We've all had a touch of a cold, all of us have had some sniffles, coughs and fevers. Colds in the summer are no fun. But, we're on the upswing. We'll post more soon!

Early June pictures

Here are some pictures from the last two weeks. Top is Grandpa Mike and Will wearing matching shirts. Middle is Xander, being silly during his bath. Bottom is Grace, she had a hard day and was dramatic about it during her evening bottle.

Things are well here. The doctor at the NICU from our follow up appointment said they were right on track developmentally. So that is good. They went to their first wedding over the weekend. Brian's cousin and best friend Mike got married. They went home with grandma and grandpa Hoefs instead of going to the reception though. It would have been too much to watch them and participate in the festivities. We'll post more later. Stay cool everybody, it's hot outside!

Not much new

There's not a lot new here to report. Just going through our days, trying to keep some sort of a schedule and make sure everyone gets what they need. Thankfully, friends and family are still faithfully coming to help (we appreciate that!). We have some fun things coming up, a family wedding, a follow up appointment with the NICU at St. E's and some shopping trips. Recently, they spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa Niebuhr's and we took them to their first family picnic. It's hard to be outside in the heat, though. But, grandma Ellen knows how to beat that. She bought them a little blow up swimming pool, so we will set that up sometime soon. We'll post pictures when we do. Take care everyone!
