Not much new

Well, not much has been going on. We are just trying to get healthy around here. Whatever illness Will had has spread to the other two, me, Ellen and my mom. And, not only did Will have bronchitis, but now Xander and Grace have it to. I took Xander in yesterday to Dr. Swisher, thinking he was getting better and it was going to be a stupid visit. But he heard a lot of congestion and wheezing in Xander's lungs. The diagnosis, bronchitis and reactive airway disease. So, home with a nebulizer for Xander. I was wrong. I thought Grace had been getting better, so I didn't take her in. But, Grace was sounding just like Xander was so he sent me home with medicine for Grace to, since I was probably wrong about her, too. So, all three of them are on the nebulizer, it takes me about 45 minutes from start to finish to get them all treated, But, it is definitely helping, so I don't mind. They sit really well, too. We are reading lots of books! I myself am also sick, so we are struggling to get well and feel better. I am headed to my doctor this afternoon.

In other news (our only other news this week), we had their pictures professionaly taken on Saturday at JCPenney. They don't post theirs on the internet unless you pay extra and we decided not to. So, I will scan them and post them when I pick up the prints next week. They turned out pretty cute, even though Xander wasn't feeling so well and didn't smile at all. Prior to the pictures, Will got his haircut (top picture). My sister did it, and it really did need it. It looks a lot better. He was very good and sat pretty still (as well as a 12 month old can sit). That's all for now. Hopefully more healthy news next week!

Funny picture and funny story

Here's a quick, funny story of Grace the other day. I gave them mac and cheese, sweet potato and carrots for dinner. Will wasn't really into the vegetables. He threw them on the floor. Grace must have been really hungry. She inhaled her food. So, I cleaned her up and put her on the floor with her bottle. Then, I went to get the boys cleaned up. Before I had finished cleaning up the boys, Grace had finished her bottle and was crawling toward the kitchen. Before I could stop her, she ate all the vegetables that Will had thrown on the floor. Then she proceeded to stand at Will's high chair and started eating what was left on his tray! That is when I took the picture. She must have been really hungry! Just thought it was a funny story to share. I'll post more next week. They're getting their pictures taken on Saturday so hopefully I can post some.

Recovering!

Well, we spent the week just trying to recover from so much partying last week. Xander had a touch of an illness or a reactions from his shots, we're not sure which. But, he had a 102 fever for several days and was pretty lethargic, and didn't eat much. Tylenol made him comfortable and he fought it off, whatever it was. By Saturday he was better and back to his regular self.

Grace is still Grace. She is enjoying the whole milk, she's drinking it better than formula. You can see from the picture that she loves the stuffed bear from Dale and Ellen. It talks and she hugs it all the time. It's pretty cute. She is doing great with the walking. She'll walk all over the house behind her push toys. She's even taken to standing. Her new favorite game is to stand at Brian's shoulder (while he's sitting on the floor) and let go. She can stand there for up to 10 seconds before she grabs on or plops on her behind. It's great fun. Both she and Xander are getting pretty daring and letting go when they are standing somewhere. Just this morning I watched Xander stand up at a table, grab two pacifiers (neither of which were his) and hold one in each hand. It was about 8 seconds before he realized he wasn't holding on to anything and he dropped to his knees. So, their balance is getting better.

Poor Will isn't doing as well. Ever since his cold in December he has been coughing and wheezing some. I talked to the doctor about it last week at the appt, but since he wasn't coughing or wheezing then, he couldn't do anything about it. On Saturday and Sunday, Will began coughing a lot and really sounding bad. At one point he was wheezing so much that he sounded like he had a squeak toy in his throat and everytime he exhaled it squeaked. So, I took him in Monday afternoon. The doctor could hear the wheezing/coughing and knew something wasn't right. They gave him an albuterol treatment and it helped. So, they send us home with a nebulizer and albuterol with instructions to do it for a couple more days until we can get this cough a little better. They're not diagnosing him with asthma yet. They're calling it brochiolitis at this point, then if it recurs the next time he has a cold, then they may call it asthma or restrictive airway disease. For now, we are treating the cough with antibiotics and the nebulizer as he needs it and playing it by ear. He is such a trooper during the treatments, he has to wear the mask for about 10 mins. He screamed the first time, but not he'll just sit on my lap and we read books and sing. Poor guy. I'll keep you all up to date as things progress with this. For now, I'll try and take more pictures and post again next week or so.

Happy First Birthday!

Well, the triplets are now officially one year old. It has been a big three days for them. It all started on Sunday when we had an open house for all the people from church that have helped

us over the last year. We had around 45 people come for dinner and birthday cake. It was nice to be able to say thank you to all these wonderful people who helped all year.

Monday evening, our families came over to eat cake and watch the triplets eat cake for the first time. They got some fun new toys, including another John Deere riding tractor from Uncle Wes and Aunt Kara and another walking toy from Uncle Chad and Aunt Lisa. I made them cupcakes instead of a cake each, and boy did they love them! Grace dove into hers, frosting first and pretty much ate the whole thing like she had eaten one before. The boys loved theirs, too. It was a good thing we did this without any shirts on. We plopped them in the bath straight afterwards, then they played with their new toys while the rest of us ate birthday cake!

Tuesday morning was our 12 month visit to the doctor. It was a good visit, even though they were tired and cried while the doctor was examining them. He is switching us to whole vitamin D milk and they have the go ahead to eat pretty much whatever we want to give them. Still no things like raw carrots, popcorn, hot dogs or grapes because of choking. They got 4 shots each, three immunizations and their second flu shot. They will probably be sore for a day or so, because they got one in each leg and each arm. Their weight is good. Will was 23 lbs 7 oz, Xander was 22 lbs 3 oz and Grace was 19 lbs even. Their heights are all in the 50th percentile or below, but all of them have head circumferences in the 75th to 95th percentile. The boys can be forward facing in their carseats now, which we will probably change this weekend. Grace still has to be rear facing until she's 20 lbs, but we are also going to switch her from the baby carrier to the convertible carseat. We could have done that a while ago, we just haven't. All in all, good reports and we see him again at 15 months. More posts next week, if there's news!
