A tour of Memorial Stadium

Since I worked quite a bit at my dad's office over the summer, I didn't get to do quite as much with the kids as I would have liked. Fortunately, the babysitter Audrey, my mom and Brian's mom did a lot with the kids. It was nice so they didn't have to sit around the house and be bored all summer. Just last week, Ellen took the kids to Memorial Stadium. The multiples club had arranged a tour and Ellen and the kids took advantage! Anyway, they got to run on the field, and see the trophies and everything. It was a fun little trip - although I wish I had gone with them!

Nebraska Nice

Grandma Ellen and Grandpa Dale were super brave and maybe a little crazy this summer. They rented a big van and took all 6 grandkids on a "Nebraska Nice" vacation for 2 days. They drove to the Arch in Kearney and toured that museum. Then, they traveled to Grand Island and went to the water park there. After spending the night in a hotel, the next morning they went to the museum in Hastings. It is a newer museum, and I had never been there. But they said it was quite good. There's a big Kool-Aid display, 3D movie theater and lots of other displays. The kids had a good time. The pictures below are from that museum. It was a nice two days off for us. Neither of us worked that Monday they were gone and we got to go out that night and spend some quiet time. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a fun time!

Bright Lights camp

This post is a little late in coming, but the kids enjoyed a week long camp at Bright Lights again this year. It was in mid-July. Unfortunately, I was too late in enrolling them and they all had to take their 2nd choice of camps. Grace did Rainforest Adventures and learned all about rainforesty things. Will did Amazing Animals. His was actually pretty cool. It was taught by a ranger from the Pioneers Park Nature Center. He got to dissect an owl pellet, hold an alligator (see bottom picture) and see all sorts of real animals. Xander liked his Skippy Jon Jones class. He got to sample different Mexican foods everyday and learned spanish words. We've been hearing him use them in conversation since then! We always enjoy Bright Lights, they're great camps. Maybe next year I can get them enrolled earlier and get their first choices!
