Henry Doorly Zoo

We took the kids for the first time to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha on Saturday. They were pretty good all day. It was a long day, with a messed up schedule, but they were good. We left first thing in the morning and spend 2 1/2 hours or so walking around the zoo. I think Will was fascinated by the animals he saw, he talked and waved to them the whole time. Grace and Xander I think were less interested, but it could have been because they were in the double stroller and it was hard to maneuver right in front of the animals and Xander was in the back. But, they had plenty of opportunities to walk around and look at things and they had fun. We ate lunch in Omaha, then drove home (they slept all the way home and could/should have slept longer, but they didn't). We put them to bed early on Saturday night and Xander slept for almost 12 hours, then they took a fantastic nap Sunday. Must have had to catch up.

Not much else to report here, besides minor illnesses. Everyone in the house has had a touch of something, including Brian and I. The kids still have runny noses and coughs, but no high fevers, only small ones. Not much seems to get getting rid of it, just time, I guess. Dale and Brian started putting up the new swing set on Saturday. It is about halfway done, and will stay that way until the weather cooperates again. They may work a little more this weekend. The kids are so excited for it to be up. They walk around looking at it and saying "slide, swing, slide". I will post pictures when it's done of their inaugural play time on it. More next week!
