Adventureland

Grandma and Grandpa Niebuhr got really brave and decided to take the kids on a little over night outing to Adventureland in Des Moines. They left early Monday morning, the day after the kids' birthday party. They spent the morning and early afternoon at the amusement park, then went to the hotel for a nap, then back to the park in the evening. They stayed until the park closed and they HAD to leave, 9:00 that night. The kids apparently loved every minute of the rides and attractions. When we asked what their favorite ride was, they said something different each time. Grace was fairly consistent saying she loved the frog ride, which coincidentally was the same frog ride from the Pizza machine in Omaha they rode in June. The trucks, hot air balloons, ferris wheel, motorcycles and boats were all big hits. See the slide show for all the pictures of everything they rode. The next morning, they got up and went swimming in the hotel pool, ate lunch, then drove home while the kids napped in the car. They got back around 4 that afternoon, then had swimming lessons that night! Needless to say, they were really tired that night. They slept in until almost 8 the next morning. I think it took them until today (Thursday) to fully recover, though. The kids had a great time. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for being brave and taking them. They loved it. Great memories!
