Happy half birthday party!

We celebrated their half birthday with a family party on Sunday evening. Both sides of the family came, plus a few friends. We grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner, then let the kids open their presents. They got a lot of fun things, a few that have been so popular, they've been fighting over them. I've been using the timer a lot to give each of them a turn with the best toys. Grace got a castle with a queen and king, and she's been playing with it the way it was intended. The boys fly their new batman helicopter into it and crash up the dinner party. Grace gets really mad!

The presents that were the biggest hit though are the new bikes! (see pictures at the top). Brian and I bought all three bikes used from other multiples club families. We figure they won't use them very long anyway, and it was a ton cheaper this way. Xander's bike is pretty much brand new looking, the family we got it from barely used it. They are enjoying riding them, we need to make a few seat adjustments, as they can't really touch the ground the way they are now. Learning to stop by pedaling backwards is a challenge. There have been a few rollouts into the street and one or two crashes because of not stopping. That is something we're working on. We took a bike ride last night around the neighborhood and Brian ended up carrying Grace's bike the last 1/4 of the way because she was frustrated and throwing a fit. They just need more practice, but we've been so busy they haven't had much time. Next week will be less busy so we can go riding more. Thanks family for the wonderful presents and celebrating the kids' birthday with us. They had a great time!
